Under Sun Acres is looking for full time general farm workers. Must be available for 48hrs a week including weekends. Job requirements include planting, crop work, harvesting, packing and post-harvest clean up. Work conditions are fast paced, repetitive, heavy handing, physically demanding and extended periods of standing. Work site indoors/outdoors and hot/cold environments. You must have your own transportation. No experience or education required. Minimum wage of $17.23/hour offered or piecework rate depending on position. Discretionary bonuses depending on performance.

Job Duties:

• Supervise and oversee General Farm Workers, packing, greenhouse and warehouse operations.
• Responsible for other warehouse operations such as shipping, receiving, record keeping and forklift operation.
• Participate in preparing and determining packing and labour strategies.
• Perform food safety, bio-security and H&S tasks, ensuring facility is always clean and assist in annual audits.
• Other general farm duties as required and assist in end of season clean-up.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma preferred.
• 2+ years of experience working in a greenhouse as a General Farm Worker.
• Lift truck license is a requirement, but can be provided to the candidate after employment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, hot or cold environment, stand for long hours at a time and lift at least 25 lbs.
• Good planning and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with colleagues, and to lead and motivate the team.
• Must demonstrate the highest standards of personal and professional integrity and character and promote ethical business behavior throughout the organization.
